Alfonso Loera Music Scholarship Fund

A.L.M.S. Jam Session was held Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Paddy's Pub. It was also Julie's birthday party and the highlight of the evening just may have been Dee's rendition of "Happy Birthday To You" a la Marilyn Monroe, complete with blonde wig. It was a site to see! Bands included The Libations, Beer Nuts, Out of Control, Automatics, Hydryr, & Mr. Peabody and the Waybacks.

Al Jam 2000 was held on Saturday, December 16, 2000 at Pulaski Lodge. Attended by about 800 people, it was the first fundraiser for the Alfonso Loera Music Scholarship. With a goal of raising $10,000 during the evening, $17,000 was grossed, with nearly $16,000 netted for the fund. Auctions included one of Alfonso's guitars, a framed photo signed by musicians & friends of Al, a leather jacket and a steel sign reading "Al Jam 2000". Bands included Plunk, Tim & Kristina, Libations, Band of Outlaws, Beer Nuts, and Smokin' Volcanoes.
